    Welcome to Week 1

    Week 1 · Full Lesson · Approx. 90 min

Welcome to Week 1 of the Spring Cohort. Whether you're brand new or you've been selling travel for years, this week is about getting grounded — in your business, in your posture, and in the way you show up for your clients.

    What You'll Learn This Week

This lesson covers the foundations that everything else builds on. You'll hear why thinking of yourself as a small business owner (not just a travel agent) changes everything — from how you respond to inquiries to how you market yourself. We'll talk about your posture when opportunities come your way, what "first contact" with a client should actually feel like, and a marketing concept called pebbling that will change how you think about social media forever.

    How This Works

You can watch the full 90-minute class recording above, or head into the broken-down sections below to take it piece by piece. Each section is 5–15 minutes and covers one topic. There's no assignment to hand in — but there IS a challenge dropping Friday, and the social media prompts at the end of this lesson are your first chance to put pebbling into practice. Pick one and post it. That's it. Show up and start.

Core Access · The Full Experience

Core Access members get every lesson broken into focused, topic-specific sections — plus text guides, resources, social media prompts, and bonus content. Here's everything in Week 1:

    Summary

This is the opening segment of your Spring cohort — the "before the lesson" portion where you set the stage. You introduce yourself, explain what a cohort is and why you chose this format over self-paced courses, walk through how the program works (Monday lessons, Friday challenges, group accountability, tiered pricing), introduce Sam as the support contact, and give the first preview of Atlas as the centralized hub you built for travel agents. You also establish your credibility (seventh year as an agent, "Semper Doctrina" philosophy) and lay out the five recurring weekly segments: Main Topic, Sticky Situation, Care & Keeping of Clients, Marketing Concept, and Client Profile.

    Key Takeaways

The cohort format exists for a reason. A group moving in the same direction together creates accountability, shared knowledge, and momentum that self-paced learning can't replicate. You've tested this over 10 rounds and it holds up.

Paying creates commitment. From piano lessons to travel training — when people have skin in the game, they show up. The pricing tiers ($500 Core Access up to $1,000 VIP) are designed to be accessible while still driving action.

Challenges over assignments. Gamification works because this audience (and most people) will do more for points and prizes than for a grade. The structure is designed to get people to do, not just collect ideas on a list they never touch.

You are in charge of your own business. No hand-holding, no attendance policing. This is adult education for business owners — the responsibility to execute sits with the agent, not the instructor.

    Assignments by Stage

🟢 Newbies (0–2 years): Define Your "Why I'm Here" Statement Write down in 2–3 sentences: Why did you become a travel agent, and what does "being where you want to be" in this business actually look like for you? Be specific — not "make more money" but what that actually means (replace your teaching salary, book 5 cruises a month, work 20 hours a week, etc.). Post it somewhere you'll see it daily. This becomes your compass for the entire cohort.

🟡 Middlers (2–5 years): Audit Your Learning Gaps List every supplier you actively sell. Next to each one, note whether you've completed their training/certification, whether you have a current login, and whether you've actually traveled with them. Identify your top three gaps — the suppliers where you're selling but haven't invested in the relationship or education. This is your starting roadmap for the supplier pathways in Atlas.

🔴 Seasoned (5+ years): Identify Your "Semper Doctrina" Edge You've been doing this a while. Where have you gotten comfortable and stopped pushing? Pick one area of your business where you've been coasting on experience rather than actively improving — maybe it's your onboarding process, your marketing approach, your pricing structure, or a supplier category you've avoided. Write down what "better" looks like in that area and one concrete step you could take this week. Experience is an asset, but only if you keep sharpening it.

That's ONE week of Core Access. Fourteen pieces of content — focused videos, guides, resources, and social prompts — instead of one long recording. And that's just the lessons.

    What Makes The Cohort Different

    Weekly Marketing Challenge

Every Friday, you get a new marketing challenge with real tasks — create a post, engage your audience, try a new strategy. You're placed on a team and earn points together. Top team wins prizes. It's accountability that actually works because it's fun.

    Live Sessions & Expert Access

Weekly live sessions with Kris and guest experts. Ask questions in real time, get feedback on your business, and hear what's working for other agents. Every session is recorded — watch live or catch the replay in Atlas.

    Your Cohort Community

You're not doing this alone. Your cohort has its own private forum inside Atlas, a dedicated support contact (Sam), and a team of people who are all building their businesses alongside you. For 12 weeks, these are your people.

    Ready to start your journey?

The Cohort is a 12-week program that transforms how you build your travel business — from finding your purpose to signing your first premium clients. This is just Week 1.
